8:00am – 9:40am Ethics - Speaker: Dr. Patrick O’Leary, St Ambrose University. Dr. O'Leary was born in Ireland and has broad international work experience, including time in England, Japan, Dubai, and Belgium. He has led student tours to over a dozen countries in including Israel, Italy, Netherlands, China, Australia and Singapore.  His research interests are in cross-cultural management and international dimensions of organizational behavior. He has been published in the International Journal of Health Care Quality Assurance, Ivey Case Publishing, the Journal of Business and Economic Perspectives, the American Journal of Distance Education, and others.

 

9:50-11:30 White Collar Crime - Speaker: Aaron R. Warner, ProCirular. Aaron R. Warner has more than 25 years of experience in information technology, security, and risk management. He specializes in organizational security and applying technology, process, and people to solve complex challenges. As the CIO and CTO of biotech leader Integrated DNA Technologies, Aaron assembled an amazing team of bright people who grew IDT from 13 employees to nearly 1,000, from hundreds of thousands to hundreds of millions in revenue, and built facilities worldwide until the sun never set on the company.

 

12:15pm – 1:15pm How to Work with Remote Teams – Speaker: Helena Long, Vice-President of Leadership Development, JET Engineering &Principal, Longview Consulting In each of her workshops or seminars, Helena brings hands-on knowledge, best practices, techniques and tools based on her extensive experience in Organization and Talent Development.   She graduated from The University of Tennessee in business, human resources and administration, and studied Organization Development at Pepperdine University.  She is also a certified DiSC facilitator.  She has been a strong supporter and member of the Project Management Institute and the Association for Talent Development where she served as the President-Elect in 2016 and the President of the Hawkeye Chapter in 2017.  .

 

1:25pm – 2:10pm Financial Planning - Speaker: Justin Ryan, CFP®, AIF®, Hawkeye Financial Group Justin has been advising clients in the areas of asset accumulation, wealth management, estate planning strategies, and retirement income planning since 2005. Justin is passionate about helping people evaluate, plan and accomplish their financial goals through the use of what he believes are the best investment techniques and vehicles available. Justin received his BA in Economics from the University of Iowa and has obtained his CFP® and AIF® certifications. Additionally, he holds the Series 6, 63, 65 and 7 Securities Registrations. Justin and his wife, Amy, reside just outside Iowa City with their son, Everett.

 

2:20pm – 3:15pm The 5 Most Scandalous Frauds of 2018 - Speaker: Cindy Dittmer, Coe College Cindy has a Bachelor's and Master's in Accounting and a PhD in Organization Management.  She has over 20 years of experience as a CPA in both public and private accounting positions. She has been teaching accounting full-time at the college/university level for 14 years.  This is her second year at Coe College, where she teaches a course on Fraud Examination. The 5 most scandalous frauds of 2018.  These were chosen by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) based on the amount of money lost, the number of lives affected and the most relevant to the anti-fraud profession.

 

3:15pm – 4:15pm Everyday Millionaires - Speaker: J Kevin Trout, CPA, CMA, Coe College Kevin is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration and Economics at Coe College. His teaching passions include Managerial Accounting, Tax Accounting and Personal Finance. Before teaching at Coe, Kevin worked for over 20 years in industry including holding positions of CFO or Controller at three different eastern Iowa companies. During his presentation, he will be reviewing and discussing the major implications of the book Everyday Millionaires by Chris Hogan, which reports on the largest-ever study of U.S. millionaires. After you've solidified your plan to become a millionaire, Kevin will go on to talk about a couple of simple estate planning moves that can be used to tax-efficiently pass assets to the next generation.
